2021 SCIENTIFIC POSTERS

NOTE: We are no longer accepting poster submissions

All symposium attendees are strongly encouraged to submit abstracts and posters for the Virtual Poster Session, which will be accessible to all who go to our 2021 Symposium website.

Please consider joining our Poster Session Saturday, July 24, 2021 from 10:30-11:50am US Eastern Time!  We will feature six RASopathy families – two sets of three 10-minute pre-recorded presentations followed by a live Q&A.

Extended to midnight GMT Friday, July 16, 2021

Previously published material may be presented, if new aspects are introduced.

Please submit BOTH an abstract and a poster.

1.  How to prepare the abstract:

    • Prepare the abstract as a .pdf of a Word (.docx) document, 11 point Arial font, 1″ margins on all four sides
    • The abstract narrative should be no more than one 8-1/2” x 11” page
    • Include:
      • Abstract Title, centered on the top of the page
      • Authors’ names and affiliations
      • Name of the presenting author should be underlined

2.  How to prepare the poster:

You can choose either the traditional format as you would have it printed, as a .pdf; or as a multi-slide Powerpoint presentation made into a .pdf.

Be sure the contact author’s name and email address are clearly posted on every document. If you choose to provide a slide deck, be sure the name and contact information is on every slide.

3. How to submit:

Please email both abstract and poster as attachments to info@rasopathiesnet.org

In the body of the submitting email, please type for every author listed:

      • Name
      • Affiliation
      • Email address
      • Name of the presenting author should be underlined

On both abstract and poster, PLEASE BE CLEAR WHO SHOULD BE CONTACTED, with EMAIL ADDRESS, for readers with questions to be able to reach you.

Winners of the Junior Investigator Competition will provide 14-minute pre-recorded presentations that will air Sunday, July 25, 2021 from 10:00-11:00am US Eastern time.  Winners are to be available for the virtual Q&A from 10:45 to 11:00am US Eastern Time that day.  Names and contact information on posters will provide access to all interested readers via our symposium website.
Junior Investigator Competition

To apply for the Junior Investigator Competition, please indicate if you are a student, postdoctoral fellow, or junior faculty member as defined below.

Accepted abstracts will be included in the symposium proceedings submitted to the American Journal of Medical Genetics, Part A.

You will be contacted by email June 9, 2021 on the status of acceptance of your abstract.  Winners of the Junior Investigator Awards will also be notified at this time.

Poster Specifications: Once contacted, poster presenters can submit either their abstract, .ppt slide presentation, or a traditional poster as a .pdf to info@rasopathiesnet.org with “2021 Poster Submission” in the subject of the email.  Once posters are confirmed as having gone through the review process, they will be posted to the website.

 

JUNIOR INVESTIGATOR COMPETITION
Deadline: 8am US Eastern Time, May 24, 2021

Junior Investigators are encouraged to participate in this competition when submitting their research abstract.  Any trainee or a junior faculty member who is within 3 years of starting an academic faculty position is eligible for this competition.  Three prizes will be awarded.

Eligible Junior Investigators:

  • Anyone who is still a trainee or within 3 years of starting an academic faculty position as of July 23, 2018.

Prize: free symposium registration, and the opportunity to present your poster at the Symposium.  This will entail a 14-minute pre-recording your poster presentation, and your participation during Session 6 (10-11am

How to Submit:

  • Send abstract to Amy Roberts, MD by May 24, 2021 (see instructions above).
  • Indicate if you are a student, a postdoctoral fellow, or a junior faculty member.
  • Include a letter explaining where and when you completed your training, signed by your program director.  This can be scanned and attached as well, or faxed separately to Amy Roberts at (617) 739-6282.

Jurors: RASopathiesNet’s 2019 Scientific Advisory Board

Expectations:

  • Participation in the Families’ Poster Session on Saturday, July 24, 2021, 10:30-11:50am US Eastern Time
  • Oral presentation at the symposium, Sunday, July 25, 2021 from 10:00-11:00am US Eastern Time
  • Participation in the Break-out Sessions with the RASopathy family groups, Sunday, July 25, 2021 from 1:10pm-4:15pm US Eastern Time

Notification of Winners: Winners will be notified June 9, 2021.
