2019 SCIENTIFIC POSTERS

All symposium attendees are strongly encouraged to submit abstracts for the Poster Session Friday Night, August 2, 2019 from 8:00-10:00 pm and/or Junior Investigator Competition.

 

 

 

Deadline for Poster Submission: May 31, 2019

How to submit an abstract:

  • Submit abstract as a Word (.docx) document, 11 point Arial font, 1″ margins on all four sides
  • The abstract narrative should be no more than one 8-1/2” x 11” page
  • Include:
    • Abstract Title, centered on the top of the page
    • Authors’ names and affiliations
    • Name of the presenting author should be underlined

Submit poster abstract as an attachment by email to Amy Roberts at amy.roberts@cardio.chboston.org

In the body of the submitting email, please type for every author listed:

  • Name
  • Affiliation
  • Email address
  • Name of the presenting author should be underlined

Previously published material may be presented, if new aspects are introduced.

To apply for the Junior Investigator Competition, please indicate if you are a student, postdoctoral fellow, or junior faculty member as defined below.

Accepted abstracts will be included in the symposium proceedings submitted to the American Journal of Medical Genetics, Part A.

You will be contacted by email June 16, 2019 on the status of acceptance of your abstract.  Winners of the Junior Investigator Awards will also be notified at this time.

Poster Specifications:

  1. Measurement:  ABSOLUTELY no wider than 4 feet (122 cm) wide x 4 feet (122 cm) high
  2. Mounting: Poster display boards and push pins will be provided

 

JUNIOR INVESTIGATOR COMPETITION – deadline: May 31, 2019

Junior Investigators are encouraged to participate in this competition when submitting their research abstract.  Any trainee or a junior faculty member who is within 3 years of starting an academic faculty position is eligible for this competition.  Three prizes will be awarded.

Eligible Junior Investigators:

  • Anyone who is still a trainee or within 3 years of starting an academic faculty position as of August 2, 2016.

Prize: Up to $1,500 eligible reimbursable travel expenses, plus free symposium registration.

How to Submit:

  • Send abstract to Amy Roberts, MD by May 31, 2019 (see instructions above).
  • Indicate if you are a student, a postdoctoral fellow, or a junior faculty member.
  • Include a letter explaining where and when you completed your training, signed by your program director.  This can be scanned and attached as well, or faxed separately to Amy Roberts at (617) 739-6282.

Jurors: RASopathiesNet’s 2019 Scientific Advisory Board

Expectations:

  • Participation in the Poster Session on Friday night, August 2, 2019, 8:00-10:00 pm.
  • Oral presentation at the symposium, Sunday, August 4, 2019.
  • Participation in the Break-out Sessions with the RASopathy family groups, Sunday, August 4, 2019, ending by 1:30 pm.

Notification of Winners: Winners will be notified June 16, 2019.
