🫁 Much previous effort and time has been spent to understand RAS signaling to realize therapies for nasty RAS-associated cancers.
🩺 In parallel, clinical recognition of congenital syndromes with overlapping traits built a base of literature waiting for molecular insight. In the last few decades, dozens of genes and hundreds of pathogenic variants have been identified to cause these syndromes.
💡 And guess what, they reveal almost every gene in the RAS signaling pathway!!! It’s what links the “RASopathies” as a collection of related medical conditions.
🚀 The National Cancer Institute (NCI) RAS Initiative at Frederick National Laboratory for Cancer Research has built a comprehensive infrastructure and team of dedicated scientists to accelerate generation of evidence to support and advance cancer treatments. And we’ve seen it’s impact in the latest therapeutics to flash across the news media.
🌟 Thanks to the physicians and scientists who are connecting the dots, the ART (Advancing RAS/RASopathies Therapies) Initiative is accelerating our understanding of cancer and rare diseases of RAS signaling. The future is bright.
